A global leader in education and training for the responsible service, sale, and consumption of alcohol. Proven effective by third-party studies. TiPS® is a skills-based training program that is designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and drunk driving.

MentorMe® Drug Testing & Educational Services can implement TiPS® University Training on campus in a variety of ways.

TiPS® University Training is a 2.5 hour program that helps students make sound choices when faced with difficult decisions about alcohol use. Working together and with administration, students address drinking behaviors specific to their schools and develop intervention techniques appropriate to their campuses.

TiPS® University Training provides students with the knowledge and confidence necessary to reduce high-risk drinking behavior among peers. More than 1,200 campuses nationwide have implemented TiPS® University training. Make your institution part of this successful training initiative.

Program Duration: 2.5 hours

Program Cost: $55.00 per person

Target Audience: Public or private colleges and universities, fraternities, sororities, athletic teams, student health departments, student activities groups, Greek life offices, student judicial committees, student governments and others can all benefit from the information and techniques presented in TiPS® University training.

The Challenges: Whether or not students choose to drink, TiPS® University training recognizes that at some point in their college careers, they will face situations where alcohol is being consumed. They may face scenarios involving alcohol abuse, underage drinking or drunk driving, and incidents that can lead to property damage, alcohol liability, and human tragedy. Young people need strategies for creating safe, responsible and socially enjoyable campus environments.

The Solution: Students are in the best position to address drinking behaviors among peers. They are close to the situation and understand the culture on their campuses. TiPS® University training develops students' social skills and gives specific information for detecting when friends have had too much to drink or are getting into trouble with alcohol. Students learn specific strategies and skills for intervening in alcohol-related situations that may develop on campus. Unique in its approach, TiPS® University training brings together administrators, faculty and students to create responsible campus atmospheres.

Additional Benefits: TiPS® University training builds on students' concerns for the safety of their peers. Students learn decision-making skills that help guide their behavior and are more likely to consider the consequences of their actions. In addition, students gain more confidence to intervene in difficult alcohol-related situations to prevent alcohol-related incidents on campus such as property damage, injury, and drunk driving. Finally, TiPS® University training provides liability protection for both the university and its student organizations.

Cost for TiPS® University Training includes the training manual, exam processing, and retention of all certification records for 3-years.
