DNA, Paternity Testing
Personal Paternity Test - Non/Court Ordered
If you do not need a DNA test for a legal matter — but just need a paternity test strictly for your own knowledge.
DNA paternity testing determines the biological father of a child. We all inherit our DNA from our biological parents — half from our mother, and half from our father. A DNA paternity test compares a child's DNA pattern with that of an "alleged father" to determine if there is a match. When performed correctly in an experienced laboratory, it's the most definitive proof of a biological relationship.
DNA Test Participants
In a standard DNA paternity test, the tested parties include a child, the alleged father, and the mother. The mother's participation in the paternity test helps to exclude half of the child's DNA, leaving the other half for comparison with the alleged father's DNA. However, we can perform a paternity test without mother's participation. We won't charge you more to include the mother in testing.
DNA Collection Kit
Collecting DNA sample is quick and painless. You may appear in our office or purchase a kit online for delivery to your location.
Once you place an order we will mail you a DNA sample collection kit. The kit will contain the following:
-
Complete instructions for collecting the DNA samples
-
Buccal swabs and swab envelopes for the child, alleged father, and mother (if participating)
-
Pre-paid return envelope for shipping the samples to the laboratory
What happens if we live in different locations?
We can send separate kits free of charge, even if the tested parties live at different addresses.
